The starting point

Zurich start-up Climeworks has built a suction plant that removes CO₂ from the air and returns CO₂-free air to the atmosphere. The technology includes a filter on which the carbon dioxide is chemically bound and then removed separately using heat.

Various chemicals are used to bind the carbon dioxide. Climeworks therefore needed equipment that ensures safety during the daily production, use and storage of these substances.

The solution

In our manual production we built compact, self-supporting laboratory fume hoods in plastic with good chemical and corrosion resistance, cut precisely to the customer's spatial requirements.

The outcome

The fume hoods achieve maximum efficiency in terms of space economy and cost (TCO). Fourteen of these CO₂ suction plants are in operation or under construction worldwide.

What characterises a made-to-measure laboratory fume hood in plastic?

It is compact and self-supporting, resistant to chemicals and corrosion, and cut precisely to the spatial requirements – which delivers high efficiency in space economy and total cost of ownership.
