Anyone screening suppliers or writing a sustainability report needs documents, not statements. Here is what exists at our end, what it is good for and how quickly you get it.
At a glance
Semadeni issues evidence in four groups. First, the assessment of our sustainability by an independent body: EcoVadis awards Gold, 84 out of 100 points, which puts us among the top 5 per cent of rated companies. Second, five ISO certificates for quality, medical devices, environment and food safety, each issued by an independent body. Third, our greenhouse gas balance including method and the scientifically derived target of cutting emissions from own operations and purchased energy by 46 per cent by 2030 against 2019. Fourth, product-specific confirmations: food contact, substances, dangerous goods approval as well as material and recycled content of a given article. Where a blanket figure would not be sound – a CO₂ value per article without a sound product carbon footprint – we say so instead of estimating it.

What we can prove – and what we cannot
A piece of evidence is only worth the check behind it. So we also say where we supply no figure: an estimated value in your report serves you worse than a missing one, because it surfaces in the next audit.

Which evidence do I get from Semadeni?
The assessment of our sustainability by an independent body (EcoVadis Gold, 84 out of 100 points), five ISO certificates, our greenhouse gas balance including method, confirmations on food contact, substances and dangerous goods approval as well as product-specific data on material and recycled content. We also fill in your own supplier questionnaire.
How quickly do I get a document?
Certificates and the EcoVadis assessment are on hand and usually go out the same or the next working day. Product-specific confirmations – the recycled content of a particular article, for instance – need a short check because they refer to one specific article. Tell us your deadline.
Request evidenceWhat is a declaration of conformity?
A written confirmation from the manufacturer that a product meets a particular rule – the EU rules for food-contact packaging, for example. It is not a marketing promise but a document you can rely on in an audit. We issue it per product and per use.
Is your data enough for a sustainability report?
For data on a delivered product, yes: material, recycled content, certificates and our own greenhouse gas balance can be used in your report. We only state a CO₂ figure per article where it rests on a methodologically sound product carbon footprint. Otherwise we make the data gap transparent.
Will I get the recycled content of an article?
Yes, but per article rather than across the board. The recycled content is determined per article and is stated according to the manufacturer's declaration. We state the share of the specific article and say whether it is permitted for your application.
Products from recycled materialDoes Semadeni have a dedicated circular product line?
No. Articles with recycled content do not run under a line name of their own; they are part of the normal assortment and can be found in the web shop via the marking there. We say it that way rather than carrying a name behind which no defined assortment stands.
