We are an independent, medium-sized company that has been in the world of plastics for over 70 years –
from development and design through to manufacturing and sales. You'll find our products in the lab, in
catering, in hospitals, on construction sites or in industry. How we treat one another matters: fairly,
openly and respectfully. Diversity and team spirit are part of our everyday – the right
environment to get started with an apprenticeship.
Our apprenticeships
Three professions, one company
You learn where plastic products actually take shape – in our own production in Ostermundigen.

Plastics Technologist (EFZ)
Melt. Shape. Marvel.
You produce plastic goods on computer-controlled machines – pressing, injection moulding, extruding or machining. You plan the process, set up the equipment and optimise quality.
You manage inbound and outbound goods, handling and inspection. You operate warehouse vehicles, work with scanner and system, and keep the material flow moving.
You make parts from metal and plastic on CNC drilling, turning and milling machines. You write programs, set up machines, build prototypes and check function and quality.
We train in three professions in Ostermundigen: Plastics Technologist EFZ, Logistics Specialist EFZ/EBA and Polymechanic EFZ. The current status is shown above for each profession.
How do I apply for an apprenticeship?
Your dossier consists of a cover letter, CV and complete school reports. If the apprenticeship is listed, the posting states how to proceed; otherwise take the spontaneous application route and name the profession you're interested in.
Yes. A taster day is the best way to get to know the profession and us. Mention the wish right in your application.
When does the apprenticeship start?
The apprenticeship starts in summer (August), as usual. Apply early in the year before – popular places fill up fast.
What makes Semadeni special as a training company?
Semadeni is a Swiss family business since 1952, with its own production in Ostermundigen, part of the Semadeni Industry Group. Fair, open dealings, short paths and a sustainability management externally rated EcoVadis Gold shape the everyday.
The goal is a publishable base without wrong information – not completeness. Anything missing or that could go deeper: report it as "idea for later". We will keep expanding after go-live.
You go through your pages and report what is factually wrong. Expect three to five minutes per page.
Read the page like a customer, not like a proofreader – and only this page, not the ones it links to. Those are on someone else's list.
Report anything that stands out right here – a picture of the page is attached automatically. For a specific passage: select it, right-click, "Copy link to highlight", and paste the link into your report.
At the end click "Mark page as reviewed" – the button stays at the bottom of this panel. Even if you found nothing – otherwise "nothing reported" cannot be told apart from "never looked at". And also if you did report something: the tick means "looked at", not "free of errors".
If a page belongs to someone else's field: "Bring someone in" for a single spot, "Hand over page" for the whole page.
Your task list shows at any time what is yours, what is still open and what became of your reports.
Please report: Anything missing, outdated or wrong – and anything visibly broken.
Please don't report: Taste, wording polish, wishes. And that forms do not arrive: that is intentional.
