The starting point
More than 20 years ago a fire smouldered for two hours in a roof space in Berne's old town before it was noticed – far too late. A major fire followed and destroyed several houses. For around two years now a new fire protection concept has prevented such cases.
The solution
On behalf of Frey + Cie Sicherheitstechnik AG we manufactured over 200 plastic housings for the «CasaSegura» smoke alarm system. The housings contain a transmission box and a smoke alarm control unit that alert the fire brigade in the event of a fire. Plastic is ideally suited here because it does not interfere with radio waves, so a warning can be triggered early.
The outcome
Several fires have already been prevented this way. Thanks to in-house production we can offer one-off manufacture alongside initial small and large series – and as new owners keep joining the system, we can guarantee the customer full flexibility in order quantities.
Why are housings for smoke alarm systems made from plastic?
Because plastic does not interfere with radio waves. The transmission box and smoke alarm control unit inside the housing can therefore trigger an early warning to the fire brigade in the event of a fire.
