Semadeni AG joins the UN Global Compact
Since 31 March 2026, Semadeni AG has been a participant in the UN Global Compact and is committed to the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
In brief
Since 31 March 2026, Semadeni AG has been an official participant in the UN Global Compact (UNGC) – the world's largest initiative for responsible corporate governance. With this step, we formally commit to the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption – and establish the binding framework against which we will measure ourselves from now on.
Disclosing progress
By joining the UNGC, we make our commitment even more binding externally. For us, the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact are not merely an obligation, but a guideline for the continued development of our company. By joining, we create the framework to document our progress transparently and to report on it regularly.
Why this step
The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact cover four areas of action:
- Human rights – protection of and respect for internationally proclaimed human rights within our sphere of influence.
- Labour – freedom of association, elimination of forced and child labour, abolition of discrimination in employment and occupation.
- Environment – a precautionary approach to environmental challenges, promotion of greater environmental responsibility, and the use of environmentally friendly technologies.
- Anti-corruption – working against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
The Ten Principles as a guideline
The Ten Principles do not describe a target state that we still have to reach. Rather, they form the framework within which we further develop our existing activities and make them traceable.
A voice from the company
For us, the value of the UN Global Compact does not lie in membership alone. It lies in making progress visible – and areas for improvement just as much. It is precisely this transparency that is decisive for our development. The topics of human rights, fair working conditions, environmental responsibility and anti-corruption are already part of our corporate practice today. With the UN Global Compact, we build on the measures we have implemented, among others within the Swiss Triple Impact programme, and create an internationally recognised framework for transparency and continued development. We will publish our first Communication on Progress (CoP) in 2027.

What comes next: Communication on Progress 2027
As a UNGC participant, we commit to publishing a Communication on Progress (CoP) every year. We will submit our first CoP during the submission window from 1 April to 31 July 2027. It will transparently show which measures we have implemented along the Ten Principles, where we are making progress and where we need to adjust. In this way, our commitment becomes traceable year after year – for our customers, employees, suppliers and partners.
Part of a growing foundation
Joining the UNGC is one building block – alongside our participation in the Swiss Triple Impact programme and other commitments. With the EcoVadis Gold rating, our measures and progress are also assessed independently.
