Accessibility Statement
Semadeni AG wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible – regardless of disability, age or the technology they use. This statement sets out where we stand, what does not work yet and how to reach us.
Scope
This statement applies to the website www.semadeni.com in all four language versions (German, French, English, Italian).
It does not cover the online shop at eshop.semadeni.com, nor third-party content that we merely link to.
Standard applied
We measure the website against EN 301 549 and therefore against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA. As a company with establishments in the EU, we refer to the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
Conformance status
The website is partially conformant with EN 301 549. The content listed below does not yet meet the requirements.
Non-accessible content
1. Four PDF documents are not tagged. Without a tagged structure, screen readers cannot reliably convey a file’s headings, tables and reading order. This affects:
- the chemical resistance list (German and French editions)
- the Supplier Code of Conduct (German)
- the 2020 press release on the acquisition of G&R Kunststoffe AG (German)
Requirement not met: EN 301 549, clause 10 (non-web documents). Alternative: on request we will provide the content of these documents in an accessible form – contact details are below. Future editions will be produced with tagging.
The three GTC PDFs are not tagged either – but the same text is available in full as a web page (Terms and Conditions), and that version is accessible. There, the PDF is only an additional download.
Language and title are now set correctly on all documents offered for download, so screen readers announce them properly and read them in the right language.
2. Text-only enlargement on individual pages. If you double only the font size without zooming the page (a special mode that only some browsers offer), individual content blocks on 16 pages require horizontal scrolling – usually by a few dozen pixels. No content is lost. Workaround: ordinary browser zoom (usually Ctrl/Cmd and +) works without restriction up to 200 % and beyond; the page then switches to its mobile layout and does not scroll sideways.
3. Third-party cookie notice. The cookie notice (Cookiebot) appears in your browser’s language rather than the page’s; an Italian version is currently missing. It can be operated fully by keyboard.
What already works
Tested and in order, among others: the skip link to the main content, full keyboard operation including the modal menus, a visible focus indicator, colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text, labelled form fields with autofill support, error messages next to the field in the language of the page, correct language declaration per language version, alternative text for images, a coherent heading structure, respect for the system setting “reduce motion”, and a layout free of horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 5 August 2026 and reviewed on 6 October 2026 after the launch of the new website, each time based on a self-assessment.
Testing was done in a current Chromium browser, in the following combination:
- an automated check with axe-core across all 514 pages of the site, in all four language versions;
- manual checks of keyboard operation, the modal dialogues (mobile menu, search) and the forms, in all four languages;
- a check of the layout at 320 pixels wide and at 200 % zoom;
- a check of the PDF documents offered for download for structural tagging;
- a check of the cookie notice and the chat window (keyboard, labelling).
