The starting point

In the bathroom in particular, toothpaste tubes and bottles for shower gel, shampoo or liquid soap account for a high share of single-use packaging that we buy again and again. Refill solutions bring the zero-waste idea into the bathroom as well.

That is the approach pursued by the niceshops group, for whom sustainability and environmental protection are central pillars of the corporate philosophy. Under the «Hands on Veggies» brand it develops sustainable natural cosmetics and was looking for suitable packaging for its refill line.

The solution

We offer packaging solutions in a range of recycled materials as standard, produced in our own plants. After a few consultations we were able to supply the niceshops group with our round bottles in Ocean Plastic.

Ocean Plastic: collecting this material is a preventive measure to stop fishing and shipping equipment being disposed of in the world's oceans. The nets are collected by ports, net manufacturers and plastics collectors and recycled before they end up in the oceans or in landfill. Valuable, usable material therefore stays in the loop as post-consumer recyclate.

The outcome

Using Ocean Plastic stops old fishing nets ending up as ocean waste. The niceshops group then refined the round bottles with a print and a metal pump; the refillable soap dispenser was nominated for the Green Product Award.

What is Ocean Plastic and where does it come from?

Ocean Plastic comes from fishing and shipping equipment collected by ports, net manufacturers and plastics collectors and recycled before it reaches the oceans or landfill. As post-consumer recyclate the material stays in the loop.
