How custom-sized laboratory equipment contributes to climate protection

What would happen if an invention was made which allowed the industry to neutralise its CO2 emissions and thus stop climate change? In the global flight against carbon dioxide, a solution ready for mass production could soon save the planet from a climate shock.

Because the Zurich start-up Climeworks has built a suction unit which extracts CO2 from the air and emits CO2-free air into the atmosphere again. The technology behind it contains a filter to which the carbon dioxide is chemically bonded and which is separately removed through heat. Fourteen of these CO2 suction units are now in use or in construction worldwide, and are already helping to counteract climate change.

Various chemicals are used to bond the carbon dioxide. For this, Climeworks needed equipment which could guarantee safety in the daily manufacture, use and storage of this substance. Thanks to our long-standing experience, we were able to provide the start-up with the ideal solution. In our manual production, we manufactured compact, self-supporting laboratory hoods made of plastic with good chemical and corrosion resistance which meet our client’s spatial requirements exactly, and achieve the highest efficiency with regard to the usage of space and costs (TCO).

Do you also need a suitable laboratory hood or a hazardous materials cabinet made to measure? As experienced manufacturers of laboratory equipment, we provide plastic systems adjusted to your work processes which stand out for their robustness, long service life, easy operation and good resistance.
