170-year-old farmer’s outbuilding refined with a plastic pond
In the early morning hours, the first rays of sun stretch across the idyllic countryside of Herrenschwanden. The residential storey belonging to the 270-year-old historical farmhouse, built in 1847 and renovated only recently, appears in a golden light. Surrounded by the natural scenery and a planted pond, it is the perfect time to start the day relaxedly with the first coffee.
This pond was manufactured by our plastic processing department on behalf of Haas Gartenbau. It meets the personal wishes of the homeowners. The surface totals 32 m2 (8 m x 4 m). What is special about this pond is the sloped depth from 0.5 to 1 m depth. A customised pond was produced from plastic that fits ideally into the landscape. The end of the pond - which is hardly visible anyway - was also integrated into the design of the bank. In the end, the pond became the new home of several koi.
Garden ponds are built from black or blue polyethylene plates in a welding process. Since each pond is produced on an individual basis, almost anything is possible with regard to shaping. If desired, lighting can also be integrated that can be controlled remotely. The polyethylene plates are UV-stabilised and will remain intact for decades. In Switzerland, Semadeni has so far installed more than 600 ponds.
The result: a personal oasis of wellbeing in which one can start the day in high spirits, see out a long day and enjoy some peace and quiet.
