Plastics technologist EFZ

Without products and parts made of plastic and rubber, nothing would work in the modern electrical and construction industry, vehicle and medical technology or in the leisure and sports sector. Depending on the mixture and processing of the raw material, plastics and rubber have very specific properties.

Plastics technologists are specialists in the industrial and sometimes manual production of plastic products. With the necessary knowledge, they process all types of materials and apply various manufacturing and processing methods. To do this, they use high-quality, computer-controlled, semi-automatic and fully automatic machines and systems. They carefully plan the production process, set up the systems and peripheral equipment, put them into operation, check, document and optimize the production process.

Depending on the company, plastics technologists specialize in additive manufacturing (3D printing), thermal or mechanical processing of semi-finished products, for example. They can also press, injection mold, extrude (into a continuous form), calender (roll into a continuous strip) or laminate the materials into the desired shape.

Logistiker:in EFZ / EBA

Moderne Lager- und Verteilzentren sind durchorganisierte, mit viel Elektronik ausgestattete technische Wunderwerke. Hier sind die Logistiker und Logistikerinnen verantwortlich für die Ein- und Auslagerung, den Warenumschlag und die Warenkontrolle. Sie packen gerne an, transportieren und verteilen Güter, wie Konsum- oder Produktionsgüter, Briefe, Pakete oder Gepäckstücke.

Logistiker und Logistikerinnen fahren Stapler und andere Lagerfahrzeuge, unterhalten Geräte und Fahrzeuge. Computer und Scanner stellen dabei unentbehrliche Arbeitsinstrumente dar, um Bestandskontrollen durchzuführen, die Lagerbewirtschaftung zu planen, Statistiken zu erstellen und Bestellungen zu bearbeiten. Sie bewegen sich in Lagerräumen von Dienstleistungs-, Handels- oder Produktionsbetrieben, aber auch in Brief- und Paketzentren, in der Postzustellung oder in Güterverteilzentren.

Polymechanic EFZ

Depending on their field of work, polymechanics produce parts from metals and plastics - from tiny watch screws to the size of a turbine wheel with a diameter of several meters. To do this, they use modern, often computer-controlled drilling, turning and milling machines and many other machine tools.

The specialists define work processes, create programs and set up machines. They monitor and optimize production processes, assemble equipment, apparatus or machines and carry out the necessary adjustment, regulation and testing work. They localize and rectify faults. They carry out projects in teams with various specialists. They look for design solutions, build prototypes and test them. They also check parts and assemblies for function and quality. Depending on the area of work, they create technical documents.
