Deep well plates as aids for milk samples

Every dairy farmer is reassured when the cow is pregnant. They thus know that the next lactation is on track. Early - to the extent possible - and reliable recognition of pregnant and non-pregnant animals is extremely important for efficient fertility management. One way of establishing pregnancy is by analysing a milk sample. This method is also gentle on the animal. Thanks to the tried-and-tested ELISA technology, pregnancy status can be determined quickly and reliably in the laboratory of Suisselab AG in Zollikofen. Here, Suisselab AG uses deep well plates (DWP) from our extensive product range as an auxiliary instrument. The DWPs filled with milk samples are transported by a robot from a cool location into a temporary storage location, after which the ELISA plates are fitted with the milk samples and the pregnancy test is performed.

We make sure for Suisselab that there are no differences between the batches of DWPs delivered by us and that the robot in the lab can grasp the plates well, which is very important in this procedure.  Differences in the DWPs can lead to losses of analysis runs and thus to delays in the transmission of results. We counteract this risk with strict quality controls. Thus, the entire process is ensured. The milk producer receives the findings immediately after the conclusion of the laboratory analysis and can thus react more quickly.

Suisselab AG is a centre of analytical expertise in the fields of milk analytics and veterinary medical diagnostics.
